I thought that I had heard everything when my daughter last week sent me a recipe for Ziploc Omelets. Ziploc What? I had never heard of such a thing so I opened the email to see how in the world you would make an omelet using a Ziploc bag.
After reading the recipe I thought that it was not only a great way to make omelets, but something that everyone would have a lot of fun doing together.
Here are the ingredients you will need to make Ziploc Omelets
Two eggs (extra-large) large eggs may also be used.
Cheese (use your favorite, or combine several kinds)
Omelet fixings (use your favorite omelet fixings, such as, ham, onion, green peppers, mushrooms and any thing else you can think of that would make a great omelet.
Ziploc freezer bags
One large pot of boiling water (two pots may be needed if you have more then six or seven people.
Preparing your Ziploc Omelets
First, make sure you have all of your omelet fixings cut up and in bowls or on paper plates and place them on a table. Gather everyone around the table and give each person a Ziploc bag.
Now have everyone place two eggs in their bag, (without the shell of course) and place your own favorite omelet fixings in their as well.
Close the bag and shake mixing everything up well. Remove as much air from the Ziploc bag as possible. Have everyone write there name on the bag using a permanent marker.
Place the bags in the boiling water and cook for 13 minutes. Make sure that the water stays boiling for the entire 13 minutes.
Remove the omelets form the bag and serve up with bacon, hash browns and your favorite coffee or juice.
