Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground Orlando, Florida

When we take family vacations, we love for there to be a variety of things to do and see in the areas in which we go. Every member of the family has unique interests, so it's essential to find a place that offers something for everyone.

We found this at Disney's Fort Wilderness campground and resort in Orlando Florida. It's the magic of Disney meets the simplistic ruggedness of nature.

The campground is massive, not clustered together, which allows for tons of nature trails to be discovered.

There are swimming holes, campfires, and even a nightly sing along with Chip and Dale as your hosts, followed by a movie on the big screen in a theater set out under the stars!

Horse trail rides are a great way to see the grounds, or if you prefer to snuggle closer to the whole family, you can also take a horse drawn carriage ride around the lake. Offering a slue of daily activities from arts and crafts, to pool games and shuffle board, this is how camping is supposed to be.

Want to be out on the water without getting your feet wet? Rent a canoe or paddle boat. And for the fisherman in the family, fish off the shores of Disney's Bay lake. You can also head down to the marina to take a guided fishing excursion into more open waters if you would like.

For the speed demon, you can rent a "water mouse" sea doo power boat and scoot around the lagoons that encircle the Magic Kingdom park.

And after all this adventure makes you hungry, you can feast back at your own homestead, or let Disney do the work for you in one of their 3 themed restaurants located at Pioneer hall.

Mickey's backyard BBQ is an outdoor feast of fun with some of your favorite characters at an all American hoe down. Or, if you you're in the mood for a rootin tootin good ole time that you and your family will never forget make sure you dine at the hoop de doo revue, Disney's own dinner show where the food is plentiful and the entertainment is top notch.

Just think all of this excitement and you haven't even visited the Parks yet! Fort Wilderness offers RV sites, tent sites as well as rentable cabins and is our families all time favorite vacation spot. Check it out for yourself, and find out first hand exactly why it is soon to be a family tradition for years and years to come!
